Clusiv began when our founder Lukas Simianer solved his employer’s accessibility issues by contracting his blind step dad and creating perfect accessibility of complex apps through step by step auditing and instant remediation. This process led to the realization that technical training was one of the biggest blockers for blind and visually impaired people getting into tech and remote jobs.
Lukas decided he’d iterate on the process he and his step dad made and try to remove the community’s biggest blocker.
The problem is huge, an entire section of the world population isn’t able to gain the skills needed to join the modern workforce.
Employers are pursuing DE&I initiatives at an unprecedented rate and they have no technology to facilitate the Inclusion they need. Blind, deaf, and neuro diverse employees are fully capable and add to every company’s culture. They just cant on board and train them properly right now.
Government and non-profit agencies get paid based on the placement rates and training provided to blind and visually impaired clients. The status quo training is the same as it was in 1999. This has led to a less than 20% job placement rate. Of those placed they’re relegated to menial labor for menial wages.
The barrier standing between blind and visually impaired people getting into tech is training. Clusiv defeats this barrier at it’s 2 most critical points. At the employer and at the vocational training agency.
